Contractor took me on a date a bit ago to the Dale Chihuly Museum in St. Petersburg, FL. We had such an incredible time checking out all the museum had to offer. If you have never heard of the Chihuly Museum, I will allow VISIT FL to give you the full description:
The CHIHULY COLLECTION is a stunning, permanent collection of world-renowned artist Dale Chihuly’s unique artwork in a magnificent 10,000 square foot setting designed by award-winning architect Albert Alfonso. The Collection is located on the city’s waterfront in downtown St. Petersburg on Beach Drive in the heart of the most vibrant tourist area in St. Petersburg.
Dale Chihuly is an incredible glass blower known throughout the world for awe inspiring glass sculptures. The museum was built to hold his designs, as well as to have the “Hot Shop” down the street to show how they are created. The “Hot Shop” is a really neat experience, they have a glass blower show you exactly the process Chihuly takes to create a work of art.
The day that the Contractor and I visited, I was out of spoons, so I opted to take a wheelchair throughout the exhibit, but it worked out fine, since the exhibit is Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) compliant, although, I was having a heart attack that I would shatter a sculpture around every corner!! I have included below a few photos and a video from our day at the museum.
Below is a video and a few photos which I took, to showcase the “Hot Shop” at the Morean Glass Studio.
If you live in the area, or are planning a visit to Florida, I highly recommend planning a visit to the Chihuly museum and “Hot Shop.” It gives an alternative to the usual Florida hot spots!! Contractor knocked it out of the park on this date! Are there any dates that you were blown away by that your partner planned? Are there any places that you would recommend us visiting? Please share with us!!
That’s it for now
